Locked in a locket;
Were these three words.

Locked in His worth;
Are these two definites.

Locked in His power;
Are these two attributes.

Alpha and Omega.
First among all others.
From who, life sprouts.
Establishing its tendrils as His dearly beloved.
A royal people upon whom He pours His daily rain.

Alpha and Omega.
The last bus stop to all ills.
Nothing resisting the power He wields.
Chains of fever falls at His touch.
Death's sting dies at His porch.

Rustling sounds break the eerie silence.
The sounds of them delivered from palsy.

Accentuated cries of an infant breaks out in the gloomy homes.
Signs of the Alphas' rain on a fallow ground.

Hands clasped firmly to Bae (wives).
Tiny platter of feet running ahead to the altar.
We march.

To give You all glory.
As you made our hearts merry.
Filled our fields with ripe berries.
Pomegranates of joy that strengthens the weary.

"O ye sinners. Repent for the day of the Lord draws near.
You that have been carrying chukuli inside exam hall. Repent now oo.
You that has converted ebelebo tree into your church parish where you conduct deliverance service for hall 2 girls. Repent oo.
You that always target your roommates pot of soup and pretend as if you are sleeping so that you can steal it when he goes out. Repent oo.
You that always form hulk hogan and pull your shirt to fight over everything. Repent oo"

These words the flyover preacher said in his early morning cry that woke us up.

While still in our sleepy state, a knock interrupted and our next door neighbors' voice rang out.
"Bros abeg una fit borrow me una hotplate?"

"Hotplate ke! At 4am in the morning. All our hotplate wire don cut"
I said.
In hope that he would catch the drift and leave us in peace.

"Oya bring one. I go fix am" He said.
A growing tone of desperation seeping into his voice.
Apparently he had forgotten about the decaying state of his egusi soup and had forgotten to warm it the previous night.

"Brosi. Go check Utility. E be like say we leave am for dere"
Timi said in a sharp tone of anger.
For he had not slept early the previous night.
Poor 100 level bloke who was still on a mission to shower hall 2 girls with the gifts of love and Mat Ice.

Within two hours, we awakened fully.

Taking our buckets downstairs to get water for bath,
We got the shock of the week.
Water had finished.

Cries of "PORTER ooo" rang out at that point.
Sarcastic shouts of "epa Oshodin oo" filled the air from the block D boys.

A rising chant of "Make we de go ooo. Make we dey go" began to rise from the impatient block B boys.
Anxious boys looking for every means of entering the girls hostel in the morning time.
Apparently they wanted to view the HD version of bathing hall 2 girls.
A sight which they had been viewing in 3g version from the third floor of their block.

With the shouts of "Make we dey go oo" gaining momentum,
Shirtless gym boys gathered  around with their buckets and sticks.
Show offs ready to impress 100 level girls with their newly acquired 5 and 6 packs.

Godbless, the PRO, started the aluta anthem that moment.
Backed up by his able Director of Welfare, who shared the cozy excos room together with him.

"Solidarity for eeehhvaaa. Solidarity for eeehhvaaa.
Solidarity for eehva
We shall always fight for our rights. SING IT"

Like a bunch of disgruntled NLC workers invigorated by the beats of Young John the wicked producer,
We chanted the song in unison for three times.

"Greatest Uniben students!" Godbless shouted like a sex starved man trying to explain to the judge, the reason why his marriage should be dissolved.

"GREAT"
We shouted back in reply.

"Articulate Uniben students!"
He shouted again with increased vigor.

"GREAT"
We replied once again. Our tempers and 'ginger' rising with each passing second.

"Of the greatest GBO GBO"
Godbless shouted.
Raising his fists to elicit more support like Nnamdi Kanu to Ipob supporters in the courts.

"GBO GBO"
We chanted back.
Our voices sounding like a pack of enraged bull dogs who just sighted a robber jumping into the compound of their master.

"Greatest GBA GBA"
Godbless shouted again while smiling.
Obviously enjoying the maddening response which he had gotten so far.

"GBA GBA"
We shouted in return.
Our combined voices sounding like an enraged banging on the door by a angry armed robber who time is wasting.

"Make we dey go oo. Make we dey go"
Godbless started to sing as he led the already filled crowd, towards Hall 2.

The target was Chinelo, the SUG president.
The location-Block C, Room 202.

As we entered Hall 2.
Each party of protesters got into business.

The sons of Hermes, the Greek messenger god of theft, started their mission.
Stealing laptops and even pota of soup from the female rooms nearby.

The sons of Aphorodite, the Greek goddess of love, started honing their craft then.
Lustily gazing at the female students who were still in their night gowns and shorts.

The sons of Ares, the Greek god of war, started performing their fathers handiwork.
Rampaging and breaking everything in sight.
Hurling insults to all girls in sight,
While being gingered to hurl more anytime the girls replied fire with fire.

"Chinelo nor dey house"
The boys leading the charge said after inquiring or her presence from Geraldine her assistant.

"Eh eh. Oya make we go see dean na for students affairs"
Another boy, holding a broken bucket, opined.
Leading the way outside the girls hostel.

Like a group of Nigerians crossing the Sahara desert in a bid to reaching Libya,
The crowd began its trek to the students Affairs.

Carrying sticks, broken bottles and empty buckets were the daring boys wearing only boxers and singlets.
Accompanying the group were some crazy hall 2 girls who had decided to have a taste of the struggle.

To be continued in later posts.

Hello esteemed friends. This hymn by Chisholm is our Hymnal of the week .
Below is the background story to the hymn and its lyrics. You can download it here

A native of the small Kentucky town of Franklin, Thomas Obediah Chisholm (1866-1960) was born in a log cabin. He lacked formal education. Nevertheless, he became a teacher at age sixteen and the associate editor of his hometown weekly newspaper, the Franklin Advocate, at age twenty-one.

In 1893 Chisholm became a Christian through the ministry of Henry Clay Morrison, the founder of Asbury College and Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. Morrison persuaded Chisholm to move to Louisville where he became editor of the Pentecostal Herald. Though he was ordained a Methodist minister in 1903, he served only a single, brief appointment at Scottsville, Kentucky, due to ill health. Chisholm relocated his family to Winona Lake, Indiana, to recover, and then to Vineland, New Jersey, in 1916 where he sold insurance. He retired in 1953 and spent his remaining years in a Methodist retirement community in Ocean Grove, New Jersey.
By the time of his retirement, he had written more than 1200 poems, 800 of which were published. They often appeared in religious periodicals such as the Sunday School Times, Moody Monthly, and Alliance Weekly. Many of these were set to music.

A phrase in Lamentations 3:22-23 provides a basis for the refrain: "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Stanza one emphasizes God’s unchanging nature: " . . . there is no shadow of turning with thee;/thou changest not, thy compassions they fail not." Perhaps James 1:17 provides the scriptural basis for this concept: "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."

In stanza two, the natural created order, including the cycle of the seasons, bears witness to the faithfulness of God. The final stanza brings the eternal, unchanging God into contact with humanity. We receive from the presence of God "Pardon for sin and a peace that endures."

LYRICS
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee,
Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not,
As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see All I have needed Thy hand hath provided Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above;
Join with all nature in manifold witness,
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today, and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside.

African Star Apple (agbalumo in Yoruba, udara in Igbo) is a popular seasonal fruit normally consumed with its flesh in Nigeria. Agbalumo is mostly cultivated in the rural areas of the country and fully in season from january to april. Naturally, its advisable to let the fruit fall to the ground before harvesting but it is common practise for people to pluck it from the tree even when it has not ripened fully. This is one of the major reasons for its sour taste and slapping sensation when it is consumed. However when the fully ripe agbalumo is consumed, it is sweet, lush and sensitises the taste buds of the eater. To crown it up, it is highly nutritious. The beautiful fruit can be gotten mostly everywhere in Nigeria towards the end of November till later in March when it would have gone out of season.

Vitamins and Minerals
Star apples serve as a good source of calcium, with each serving providing you with 10 percent of the amount you require each day. The calcium lends strength to your bones and teeth, and it may also lessen symptoms of premenstrual syndrome, such as cramping and abdominal bloating. This fruit also contains 5 percent of the daily recommended value per serving of vitamin C and vitamin A.

Natural Remedy
The agbalumo/udara is a natural remedy for toothache, constipation, sore throat, and much more. Also the bark of the tree according to research was used traditionally to treat yellow fever and malaria, while the leaf treated wounds, stomach ache, and diarrhea.  In some parts of Nigeria the seeds are used to treat vaginal and skin infections.

All-Round Basic Nutrition
1-cup serving of fresh star apple contains 67 calories. Eating star apple as a snack is a good choice as the calories are low and it provides no fat; however, this may not be enough calories to ease hunger pains and boost energy levels, as between-meal snack are meant to do. The Diet Channel notes that 100 to 200 calories per snack is best; consider eating an oz. of cheese or a tsp. of peanut butter to boost the number of calories into this range

Welcome my jolly good friends as we continue this descent down memory lane.

(Inside SS1B mathematics class)
"Bolu stand up and come and answer this question"
Mrs Ajani said.
Leaning against Bukola Opabisi's locker and facing the board while Bukola secretly offered prayers to God for invincibility from the teachers scope of vision.

Like a newly paid 'Yahoo boy's walk to the bank counter,
Bolu swaggered to the black board while the whole class looked in envy
For he was the scholar whose acumen for solving mathematics, was unrivaled.

Like an enthusiastic anatomy lecturer dissecting the composition of a cadaver (corpse) to a group of students, Bolu started breaking down the equation.

Solving in bytes and bits
Unwrapping the answer like a son carefully unveils his mother's Christmas gift with a plastered smile on his face.

Within three minutes, he was done and the teacher ordered a huge round applause for him.

"You stand up (pointing). What is your name"
Asked Mrs Ajani as she pointed at my direction

"She is calling you" I said.
Touching Kunle Bakare by the arm while praying that the teacher would affirm my actions.

"Emi ke! NOO"
Iwo gan gan ni auntie npe (you are the one auntie is calling)
Kunle replied. His gaze firmly fixed on the pages of his New General Mathematics textbook.
Praying that I would fall into the very trap that I wanted to push him into.

Like Achilles and Hector in the famed Trojan war, our prayers fought all the way to heaven.

Like the smell of Abel's sacrifice, God loved and accepted Kunle's prayer.

"I am talking to you, Kosi abi what is your name. Stand up and come and answer this question"
Shouted Mrs Ajani again.
Her anger visibly growing at the moment
For we were in the month of Ramadan.
The sacred month of fasting when tempers easily rose due to the hunger and worms that gnawed their intestines.

"Aunty mathematics na wetin be dis o.
You just dey stress me, dey vex me.
Na wich kain yawa be dis eh"
This *oga police* song by Psquare lept to my lips while I walked to the black board like a cow to the slaughter.

Knowing that her class period would end within seven minutes,
I set about a plan to run down the minutes.

"Auntie. Which one should should I solve?
Number 1 or number 2?" I asked.
Putting on my best imitation of a very dull student.

"Ode. Can't you see that your classmate has answered the first one. Answer the second one o jare" she replied.

Like the lazy sloth in the movie Zootopia,
I picked up the duster in slowed motion and cleaned the whole board (five minutes to go)

"Ah ah. See this child. Why did you clean the full board?" She asked in bewildered tone while some classmates like Leye and Okewale Akin smiled.
For they had coded this trick and had twice used it successfully.

"Auntie, the space is too small for me to solve it and I want to make it very big for everybody to see" I said.
Gently stressing the syllables to make the seconds pass by. (*Three minutes to go* my inner timer pinged)

"Oya be quick about that and answer the question" she said while looking at her watch and smiling to Olori Oyelade, our Yoruba teacher who was standing by the window in preparation for her class.

"Okay.
So 2a plus 2b will give us 4ab bah? Take the A from left side and add to B on the right. Then.. hmm"
These incoherent words I muttered while I tried to mimic Bolus' method of explanation.

On and on I continued.
Writing wrong equations and cleaning them immediately.
All the while facing the teachers direction.
As I knew of her unsavory habit of flogging a student on the back if he/she wrongly solved a question on the board.

In frustration, Auntie ordered me to get away from the board as she arose from her leaning position and came towards the board.

Like a African man seeing a white clothed figure moving in the midst of the night,
I fled towards my seat.
Grinning at the small victory I had just recorded and fist bumping Yinka Ajanis' knuckles which he stretched out with a congratulatory intent.

As I was about to seat down,
Rasak Layiwola shouted *FREEZE* and my heart skipped.
As my index and middle fingers were not crossed at the moment (image below).
Meaning he had the right to collect everything I had on me while I was to remain perfectly still like a figurine.

"Ahaahhh."
Wailing words that erupted from my lips.

"Yeeee"
My stomach screamed back in a solidarity chant.
For my back pockect held my last two hundred naira.
An amount I intended to spend in the Tuck shop during the second break.

Like a lion closing in for a kill,
Rasak came closer.
His lips parting in a hideous smile like the hyena upon seeing a trapped bird.
Dipping his hands into my back pockets, he away took the money and my biros.

"Oya, the two of you. Follow me to the staff room. You will explain this Super story that you are both acting in my class"
Mrs Ajani said.
As the whole class has paused to withness the scene played out by myself and Layi.

The staff room experience was a unique one. One which I would tell in further posts.

OHH. Happy birthday to Bukola Opabisi.
I pray you increase in everything you do.

To Him I belong.
His praise, I will sing yearlong
Weaving His goodness into a new song
He washed away my wrongs
My life, He prolonged
My bones, He made strong

To Him I give my all.
My pen to proclaim His call
My feet in swift pace to save all souls from the fall
Words of life to the sick, my mouth will haul.
Standing in every hall
Screaming it loud in every mall.
JESUS DIED TO SAVE US ALL.

To Him, I give my pages
A worthy submission for all ages.
My family, He rescued from all cages.
My pains, His love assuages.
My fears, His word upstages
Everlasting life, He gave to substitute sin's wages.

For Him, I walk.
In Him, I breathe.
Through Him, I live
With Him, I win.

Hello esteemed friends. I am sure you have heard and tasted the crunchy chin chin befor. But do you know its nutritional values?
This post will help to enlighten you on its Nurtitional benefits
Here is a link to how you can prepare the crunchy delight.
Chin Chin is a traditional Nigerian snack prepared using flour, butter, milk and eggs from which a stiff paste is made which is then deep fried until golden brown and crisp. It is quite popular across Nigeria and most parts of Western Africa. It is sweet to taste, slightly hard and may be equated to a harder version of a doughnut.

As such Chin Chin is easily one of the most favoured food items – a much relished African pastry which could serve as a dessert, snack and also as a popular street food. In fact, it enjoys a very special place in the hearts as well as stomachs of West African populations.

Nutrition Information
A serving size of ~ 90 g provides-
• A total of 541.7 calories, with 211 calories coming from fat.
• Total fat content of 23.4 g, saturated fat 7.9 g.
• Cholesterol content is 83.2 mg.
• Sodium content is 830 mg.
• Total carbohydrate content of 74.5 g with 1.7 g dietary fibre and 26.8 g of sugars.
• Protein content is 8.4 g.
• Estimated percentage of calories from fat is 30.3 %, from carbohydrates is 61.9 % and from protein is 7.9 %.

Nutritional Enhancement
Taking into account the ingredients used in making standard chin chins, it may be possible to enhance the nutritive value of this dish in many ways-

• First and foremost, baked Chin Chins may be a better option from the health perspective as they absorb much lesser oil and thus dramatically cut down on calories, fat and cholesterol content of the dish. Also low-fat or fat free butter must be used in dough-making. Only egg whites may be used to reduce cholesterol content by omitting the yolks.

• Instead of using white flour, whole wheat flour maybe used to give additional B-vitamins and some amount of fibre that is missing from refined flours. Additionally, some bran powder can be added to further build up nutritive value. Oatmeal powder is another wholesome option that provides excellent health benefits to persons with cardiovascular concerns and aids smooth bowel movements.

• For persons with gluten-intolerance two options are available -

1. Use of almond flour which is high in protein, carbohydrates as well as some healthy unsaturated fats in addition to dietary fibre. A good amount of Vitamin E, calcium, magnesium may also be obtained from almond flour. Also some folate, choline and B-vitamins along with iron, manganese and potassium in small amounts may be present. As a matter of fact, while almond flour offers ~ 5 g of protein/serving with 3 g of dietary fibre, in comparison, white all-purpose flour supplies only 3 g of protein with only about 0.6 g of fibre. This makes the almond flour a slightly better choice for individuals who wish to include more protein in their diets.

2. Similarly soybean flour may be used as a replacement for wheat flour for high protein value. Unlike most other varieties of beans that provide about 20% protein, soybean provides ~ 40%. Soybean products are proven to be zero-cholesterol foods, with perhaps the lowest levels of saturated fat content. Soybean flour is high in calcium, phosphorus, iron and fibre content. It also provides phytoestrogens that offer protection from certain cancers and helps prevent osteoporosis in post-menopausal women.

3. Addition of cowpeas is encouraged since it is quite low in Saturated Fat, Cholesterol and Sodium; is also a good source of Vitamin A, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium and Manganese as well as a rich source of soluble Dietary Fiber and Folate.

• Certain fruits like orange, apple or banana can be included in the dough mix along with cinnamon or nutmeg powder. While the fruits supply soluble and insoluble fibre, Vitamins A, C, potassium, and other minerals, the spices lend anti-inflammatory properties and aid in better digestion.

(Special Tribute to my intercessors especially Odumosu Funke and Ibiomhe Naomi)

With a troubled mind.
Hands shaking with tremor.
A quaking voice broken by deep groans of pain,
I called them.

From the paths of righteousness I had strayed.
Diverting into the way to hell by a pretty blonde in a red skirt.

The battlefield of faith I had deserted.
Dropping my weapons in search of forbidden waters to quench a momentary strange thirst.

From the word of life, I had dropped my gaze
Looking unto unprofitable sights of the hearts.

His presence,
I stopped yearning for.
Instead seeking to attain worldly riches that brought the fall.

Oh! What a miserable man I have become.
These words, my mind ruminated on.
For I could not seem to live right.

The darts of guilt assailed me
Barring my thoughts from remembering God's word.

Depressing voices haunted my rest.
Gently nudging me towards taking a pill and ending it all.

Until I called them.

A call to true believers in Christ
Who listened patiently without judging me.
Who meekly spoke without labeling me a demon.
Who prayed for me without preying on my weakness.

Christ love for me,
They reminded me.

God's hatred for my sins and not me,
They drummed into my hearing.

God's restorative power,
They emphasized to me.

The seven falls of a righteous man,
They outlined.

His victorious rise from the fall,
They stressed upon.

"Build a stronger communion with the Holy Spirit"
They urged.

"A beginning of greater things in your life"
They prayed for me.

My peace returned within minutes.
My courage doubled within the hour.

The mercy seat, I approached.
The well of life, I raced to through prayers.
Drawing draughts to quench my thirst for Him.
Fetching buckets filled with faith to quench my fear of the future.

To the well of life, they led me.
My intercessors who desired no gold.
Sisters in Christ who encapsulated the full definition of love.
Daughters of Zion who heaven rejoices in.

My gems.
God's treasures

Top of the morning to you friends.
Today we have a unique guest post from Odumosu Oluwafunke to bless our lives with.

What is love?
Who is love?

Explore love with our heart felt stories today.

Love wasn’t a new concept to him,

Yet he had decided long before that he wasn’t worth loving,

He couldn’t believe his luck that anyone will choose to love him!

For his evil reputation was enough reason for anyone to keep away

He wasn’t no Romeo and thus lacked a Juliet

For who would want to love a beast,

So he was surprised when love was professed to him so deeply and true

He was a man who loved no one but himself.

Don’t be too quick to castigate him

For he had tried to show love in his own way but all seemed abortive,

His very nature was evil

And couldn’t help but show it malicious face

This left a trail of broken hearted people,

And in cases when the love appeared to be growing

His virulent neighbour the warmonger and wouldn’t leave him in peace .

The records show clearly that,

A number of people had tried redeeming him

At the end, it was all a façade

As all soon left when the beast in him demonstrated,

All wanted to love him for the good in him alone!

For they all seem to forget that coins had two unfamiliar sides

This new lover was very unwavering!

He simply refuses to give up on him,

And thus he accepted the proposal

Trying all within himself he decided to make this new love work

He was on a quest to be a Romeo to his new found Juliet

A long distance relationship it was,

Nevertheless communication was at its peak!

The love blossomed progressively.

Then the tide turned,

For the beast in him manifested!

Creating unpleasant differences

He started cheating on his lover,

The communication reduced to its barest minimum

He thought it was already over .

The moment he was deciding to end the relationship

Came the call…………………………………………………….

He termed the transformation call

The call that confirmed that his lover was different

Which made him realise he was worth loving

That he wasn’t entirely a beast.

Where others had given up there he loves,

He always knocks at the door of the heart

Keeping his promise to redeem where others has failed

Overlooking his excesses and loving him the more

His new lover is Christ,

Who knocked constantly at the door of his heart,

Until he finally yielded to be loved

God took the beast in him and made him a saint.

In addition for the first time,

He had someone who didn’t listen to his virulent neighbour,

A lover who understood the two sides he had

Who is on a quest to make him better,

This left an everlasting joy in his life ‘

Finally, the imprint of real love is in his heart

For who needed the love of Juliet when he had the love of Christ .

Sound it to the farthest regions
Jesus is coming.
Tell it to the doubting hearts
The messiah will return

On a cloud of glory
With a retinue of trumpets
Riding in as a victorious king
Coming to take you home.

Sound it to the waiting brides.
Gird up your virgin attires.
Your head covered with a gele of holiness.
Your waist firmly covered with an akwa-ocha of joy
Your feet firmly shod with high heels of evangelical victories.
Your neck fully adored with beads of charity.
Your wrists firmly fitted with bangles of patience.

Scream it to the wavering minds.
Look around and marvel at His works.
Turn the flashlight within and affirm the weakness of the human will.
Research and uncover the changes He brings into a willing heart.
Inquire the true consequences of denying His existence
Understand that everything under the sun and outside Him is vanity.

Sound it to the old maids in the world.
Your Tom tom is on His way.
Your Olowo ori is coming to make good His promises.
Your dim oma is coming to wipe all tears away.

Sound it to the entire universe.
Jesus is coming back.

The punisher, he was called
A beast who never cowered in face of anything.
Dealing blows to enemy backs at every moment.
Dishing out hot slaps to everyone who dared to step on his shoes.
Dispensing pain medications, through his fists, to everyone who did not agree with him
Shelling out wads of cash to ensure the downfall of any rival.

'Alaroye' (newspaper), she was called.
A priest whose mouth never kept secrets.
A witch whose eyes never beheld any good deed.

Raining down invectives on all and sundry.
Bringing a stain upon every good relationship she comes in contact.
Cutting down men and women in their prime with decietful tales.
Distributing juicy scandalous tit bits for the quick cash and fame,
Giving zero concern for the lives of those involved in the scandal.

Jogunomi o!
Lest your end come in a swift manner.
A shameful demise that would imprint a dreadful stigma on your generations to come

Rest your oars from these wicked acts.
For a resting place awaits six feet below for the proponents of these acts.

Digest the bitter pill of humility and moderation.
A medication to cure bitterness towards men.
A panacea to rid mankind of excessive greed that drives many into devising illicit and harmful means  of acquiring wealth.

Enjoy the best of Chuck Norris

Thanks Kate Montaung for this Five minutes Friday prompt.
With the prompt being SAFE, I thought it good to write about how safe I feel everything I am with my lord.

00:00
My God my Lord
Binding me to Him with a chord of love.
Nudging me towards peace with his rod and staff.

00:53
For years I trod on paths of sin
My feet shod with sandals of pleasure.
Gathered around me were a squad of fear and failure.

01:11
Until I crossed the Rubicon of pleasure.
Sex held no more spice
Money brought no joy
New cars brought no peace
Nite clubs ushered in more trouble.

02:22
I had it all
Yet they held nothing.
For they were all vain acquisitions.

03:43
Then our paths crossed.
The local preacher told me a story about the cross
How you left your throne to come across
All to remove my sinful dross

04:22
I wondered how you could bear it all
How you could see my sin and not be appalled
How the sight of my filth never made your skin crawl
For I see myself in the mirror and I am indeed galled

04:44
Then he told me of your love
Of your amazing touch that could wipe it all away
Of you wonderful hands that could make me whole
Of your tender arms where I could find rest.
And your solemn temples where I can be Safe.

05:00
In those arms I found rest
In those eyes I saw how much your loved me.
In your temple I found true joy.
With you I became an overcomer.

On a sail in a raft
Sea heaving in riotous rhythm
Angry typhoon gaining ground.

Skies dark with a clear message intended.
"Time to give up and quit"

A vigorous paddling
Heart fixed on survival
Human wit relied on for wisdom
Weak arms relied on for strength

Faster the typhoon approaches
The end is clear in sight and scope.
All seems lost.

A prayer for swift death on the lips.
A light shines forth
Silver lining in the midst of the dark clouds.
To warm and cheer troubled mind.
Calming the deathly rumbles.
Reining back the rampaging storm.

The light has a name.
A personal saviour to abide with the helpless.

The light has a purpose
To give hope to the troubled minds.
The light has a name.

The name Jesus.
The person Jesus.
